What Size Golf Grip Should You Use?

What Size Golf Grip Do I Need?

When it comes to selecting the right golf grip, grip size is the most critical factor to consider. Choosing the proper grip size can help reduce tension and grip pressure, increase comfort and control, and boost your confidence.

Junior grips are perfect for younger players, while many female golfers prefer an standard or Midsize grip. Mid-size and Jumbo size grips are ideal for players with larger hands or those who suffer from arthritis.

The majority of adult male golfers will fit into either a standard or midsize grip. However, if you don't know your glove size or don't wear a glove, you can measure your hand size from the crease of your wrist (where your hand meets your forearm) to the tip of your middle finger.

Here's a simple way to get a general idea of what size Stinger grip you should be playing:

Crease to Fingertip: < 5″ Recommended Grip Size: Junior

Crease to Fingertip: 5″ to 6.5″ Recommended Grip Size: Midsize

Crease to Fingertip: 6.6″ to 7.5″ Recommended Grip Size: Midsize

Crease to Fingertip: 7.6″ to 9″ Recommended Grip Size: Midsize

Crease to Fingertip: 9.1″ to 10″ Recommended Grip Size: Midsize or Jumbo

Please note that there is some overlap between sizes, and many players fit in the range of either a standard or midsize grip. That's why it's crucial to feel the grips or try different configurations if you're able to find what works best. You can also ask the pro regripping your clubs to add a couple layers of tape to make a Midsize grip closer to a Jumbo grip.

If you find that a standard size grip is too small for your liking, but a midsize grip is too large, adding extra layers of tape can help you get the perfect grip size. Adding four extra layers of tape (in addition to the one wrap of double-sided tape needed to adhere the grip to the shaft) will take a grip from an Undersize to Standard, Standard to Midsize, and so on.

Increased Feel

Stinger Golf Grips also offer a cross-hatch surface pattern for increased control and feel.. The Stinger Grip geometry provides the feel of an additional four layers of tape built into the grip, primarily focused on the lower hand area of the grip.

Most are using Standard size but shouldn't be

If you have never re-gripped your clubs and still play with the grips that came with your set, you are likely playing with standard size grips. However, if you feel that your grips are too small, consider trying Midsize Stinger Grips to experience the benefits of a larger grip.

Most golfers are currently playing with Standard size grips, but don't know the benefits of using a Midsize grip. However, if you find that your grips feel small, switching to Midsize or Jumbo grips can offer a host of benefits, including reduced tension and improved comfort.
